D&P Photographic opened in 1988 on Gosforth High Street in Newcastle.
Since then we have built up a reputation locally for honesty, reliability and legendary service that has led to the company acquiring a large and loyal following of both professional and amateur photographers.
At D&P we are keen photographers – in fact we all love photography! - and we are always happy to meet and advise new customers who share our interest.
Our range of stock is carefully selected to meet the demands of today’s fast moving digital technologies but also includes the necessary accessories that are important to the overall success of your photography, including tripods and protective camera cases from top manufacturers such as Manfrotto and Lowepro.
Why do we not sell online?
The range of products today, particularly in the digital arena, is bewildering and we prefer to explain features and benefits to our customers personally to ensure that the equipment they buy is perfect for their photographic needs. In our opinion, a camera must be handled by the customer to see if it is suitable for their use before purchase: - each person is unique and the ‘feel’ of a camera is important. Online selling can not provide that level of service, and we have decided that our personal service, which is what D&P are renowned for, would be compromised by offering all of our cameras for sale over the internet.
There will be occasions when we have a special offer that is to good to miss that we will put online for sale, but in the main we will sell from the shop.
Our pricing is competitive, and reflects our long–term commitment to providing service to our customers in the future – D&P won’t sell you a box this week (as some internet sites do) and not be there next year to offer you the back-up that you need should something go wrong.
We have a lively shop with three main types of customer: -
- The Fast: they dash in and out for quick digital printing.
- The Lost: these customers call in for an answer to one of life’s great questions – what do I buy?
- The Shrewd: these have a keen eye and often call in to pick up one of our bargains!
Whichever you are we love a challenge and thrive on your needs, just give us a go.
We fight above our weight, and many of customers call our shop the Tardis - just because of the way we have shoe-horned so much kit inside.
